Hello there, I'm Teri Stevens

Here I am at four-years-old camping with my parents at Magone Lake near John Day, Oregon. I wonder if I caught anything?
Before I was an author, I was a camper.
Me at Camp Galilee in Glenbrook, located on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe. My experiences there inspired Makenzie’s Ring. I’m the one with the pouty face in the white hat. It was 1974, I was eight.

Just a year later. Here's me at nine-years-old in the Betty Boop T-shirt. I’m smiling, but clearly had no idea I was having a bad hair day!
Scroll forward post high school, college, marriage, and children to my time as a co-founder of Write on Mamas, a San Francisco Bay Area salon. The group published the anthology Mamas Write, 29 Tales of Truth, Wit, and Grit, which includes my first published essay.

The time I gifted author Gretchen Rubin a copy of Write on Mamas second anthology, She’s Got This! Essays on Standing Strong and Moving On, featuring an essay about my father.
After over a decade writing, rewriting, revising, querying and submitting, Makenzie’s Ring was published May 1, 2025 by Chicken House Press. Here I am at a Napa Valley Writers’ meeting, where I serve on the Board.
